Attorneys

Jack A. Moring practices exclusively in the area of marital and family law, and family-law related appeals. He is board certified by The Florida Bar in marital and family law, the first and currently only Citrus County attorney to hold this distinction. As such, he has been recognized as having special knowledge, skills and proficiency in marital and family law and certification distinguishes him as a "specialist" in marital and family law.

Jack is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Law. He was admitted to practice in Florida in 1985. He began his legal career with the firm of Bradshaw and Mountjoy, P.A., in Inverness, Florida. In 1994, he and Patricia Myers formed Myers and Moring, P.A., Jack and Patricia married in 1996, and they renamed the firm, Moring & Moring, P.A.

Jack is a member of The Florida Bar and the American Bar Association. He is the President of the Citrus County Bar Association for 2007/2008. He was instrumental in creating the Family Law Section of the Citrus County Bar Association in 2006. He was the recipient of the Citrus County Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award in 2004. He is the recipient of The Florida Bar President's Pro Bono Service Award for the Fifth Judicial Circuit (Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties) for 2008.

Jack is a member of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar, and he serves on the Family Law Rules Committee. He is also the Chair of the Fifth Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee. He is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and is a member of the Florida chapter of the AFCC. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida chapter of the AFCC. He is a member of the Citrus-Hernando Inn of Court.

Jack also serves on the Board of Directors of Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida, Inc., the Legal Advocacy Center of Central Florida, Inc., the Citrus County Family Visitation Center, and the Children's Advocacy Center of Citrus County, Inc. (Jessie's Place).

Jack has represented clients from all walks of life in all types of family law matters: dissolution of marriage, paternity, child custody, child support, adoption, dependency, injunctions for protection, pre-marital agreements, post-marital agreements, and family-law-related appeals. He has also served as guardian ad litem in custody actions, and as attorney ad litem for children in numerous family law matters. Jack is also a certified family mediator.

Jack is the father of four children: Jack, Jr., who is a graphic designer in Ocala, Florida (his company, Visual Harmony, LLC, designed this website); Philip, who attends the University of Florida College of Law; Jessamyn, who attends Central Florida Community College; and Garrison, who also attends CFCC.

Patricia M. Moring practices primarily family law, and she also practices guardianship and probate law. She is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Law, and she was admitted to practice in Florida in 1987. She began her legal career with the firm of James F. Spindler, Jr., P.A. In 1989, she ventured into solo practice, establishing Patricia M. Myers, P.A. In 1994, she and Jack A. Moring formed Myers and Moring, P.A. In 1996, she and Jack married and they renamed the firm, Moring & Moring, P.A.

Patricia is a member of The Florida Bar and the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar. She is also a member of the Citrus County Bar Association (CCBA) and the Family Law Section of the CCBA.

Patricia is a member of the Fifth Circuit Grievance Committee, which investigates citizen complaints against lawyers. She is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and is a member of the Florida chapter of the AFCC. She is a member of the Citrus-Hernando Inn of Court.

Patricia is loving step-mother to Jack, Jr., Philip, Jessamyn and Garrison. She is also a devoted mother to her dogs: Dexter, Xerox, Spud (who was rescued from Hurricane Katrina), and Milo.
